4. Business-Related Majors
Are there
any business-related majors in the College of Liberal Arts?
Any CLA major provides excellent preparation for a business career. Through
your liberal arts degree you will acquire many skills desired by employers,
including communication, writing, creative and critical thinking, and second
language skills.
Your liberal arts major may be combined with a CSOM general management minor,
an economics or other business-related minor, business-related elective courses
towards your degree, or business internships to enhance your degree.
Although CLA has no "business" majors, economics is the major that
is most closely related to a business/finance area. The program offers three
degrees: the B.A., the B.A. quantitative emphasis, and the B.S. Please refer
to the Undergraduate Catalog for
information on this major, or speak to your CLA adviser. You might also want
to have a look at our downloadable brochures for each of these tracks in economics:
Economics
B.A., Economics
B.A.--Quantitative Emphasis, and Economics
B.S. Note that Econ 1101, Econ 1102, and Math 1271 are prerequisite
courses for the B.A.
The following list of majors seem especially suited to students interested
in business. Schedule an appointment with your CLA adviser for more information.
