- requirements that you need to meet for your degree
- your abilities
- your personal needs
- your class (freshman, sophomore, etc.)
With thoughtful planning, you can create a successful, enjoyable, and balanced experience at the U. Poor planning can lead to unnecessary stress and even academic trouble. This web site will give you some factors to consider as you plan your course load for each term.
To plan your course load, you will need to consider the following questions:
- Are there any credit minimums that you have to meet?
Graduating in four years, financial aid, student employment, student athletes, international students.
- Are there course requirements that you need to meet?
Prerequisites, getting close to graduation, and sequence courses.
- How do you best study and learn?
Learning styles, aptitude, starting at the right level.
- What commitments do you have in addition to school?
Work, learning outside the classroom, personal time.
- How much time do you REALLY have?
